Low and slow, sticky and loaded with flavour. This pulled pork is rich, smoky and just sweet enough, with Smash Sesh bringing that bold BBQ hit.
Ingredients
-
2 onions, halved
-
3 cloves garlic, skin on and lightly smashed
-
2 cups liquid stock
-
1.5 kg pork shoulder
-
2 tbsp salt of choice
-
2 tbsp Blow My Coals
-
2 tbsp Smash Sesh
-
½ cup Smash Sesh (to finish)
Directions
Place the onions and garlic in the bottom of your slow cooker to create a base. Pour in the stock.
Rub the pork shoulder all over with the salt, Blow My Coals, and Smash Sesh, working it into all the nooks and edges.
Sit the pork on top of the onions and garlic. Cover and cook on low for 10 hours, until the pork is tender and falling apart.
Remove the pork and set aside. Using a potato masher, press down on the onions and garlic to release all their flavour into the cooking liquid. Stir through the remaining Smash Sesh, then remove and discard the solids.
Shred the pork using two forks, discarding any large pieces of fat. Return the meat to the slow cooker and toss through the sauce until well coated. Add extra Smash Sesh if you like.
Serve hot in buns, tacos or loaded rolls.
